Illegal Parking on Jalan Garnisun Controlled

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency controlled illegal parking on Jalan Garnisun, Karet Semanggi Urban Village, Setiabudi District.

Sub-agency's Operational Controlled, Ebenezer Lumban Tobing, said the activity involved 30 joint personnel of Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP, Army and Police.

"The action we are taking today is to confiscate two-wheeled vehicles or motorbikes that violate the rules," he said, Monday (3/2).

He explained that in the operation which lasted for approximately two hours, his team found 24 two-wheeled vehicles parked illegally, both on the roadside and on the sidewalk.

The transported vehicles will be taken to the sub-agency office to be given sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations.

"We hope that what we are doing can have a deterrent effect on illegal parking perpetrators who often disrupt the activities of residents and other users of public facilities," he hoped.

Meanwhile, one of the local residents Rizki Alwansyah, appreciated the illegal parking controlling.

According to him, public facilities such as sidewalks that have been provided by the government, especially for pedestrians, must be maintained together and not used for illegal parking.

"If possible, this should be intensified, especially during rush hour to avoid traffic jams," he requested.
